Draconoid Destruction! New Card Highlight
≪Draconoid Dreadnaught “Saku-ikazuchi” Land Mode≫
The long-awaited counterpart to ≪Draconoid Dreadnaught “Saku-ikazuchi” Flight Mode≫ is finally here! Now you can use the latter’s ability to transform it into a much tougher unit when attacked by an enemy. Then, during your turn transform it back into Flight Mode to destroy your opponent’s pesky set cards!
≪Draconoid Dreadnaught “Saku-ikazuchi” Sonic Mode≫
Turns out “Saku-ikazuchi” had a secret third mode! Don’t be fooled by its unimpressive stats, this is a potent card that’s basically a level 2 card disguised as a level 1 card. Transform it into the version of “Saku-ikazuchi” best suited for the moment, while adding another “Draconoid Dreadnaught” to your graveyard to count towards ≪Draconoid Dreadnaught “O-ikazuchi”≫’s ability! Speaking of which…
≪Draconoid Dreadnaught “O-ikazuchi”≫
Forced Reveal cards with negative levels tend to have negative effects in exchange for allowing you to put other more expensive cards into your deck. However, this one is almost all upside! Although it will self-destruct if you don’t have another “Draconoid Dreadnaught” in play, keep in mind that its ability to potentially special summon another “Draconoid Dreadnaught” from the top of your deck occurs while this is still in your drive zone, not in play. In a deck with a lot of “Draconoid Dreadnaught” units, it’ll easily be able to fetch another one to keep it from destroying itself!
≪Draconoid Dreadnaught “Amano Hono-ikazuchi”≫
The star card of the deck, this is an upgraded version of the very first Draconoid Dreadnaught card, ≪Draconoid Dreadnaught “Hono-ikazuchi”≫. You’ll want to always use its 【Enhance】 (put this card on top of another “Draconoid Dreadnaught” unit) if possible, which will massively upgrade its offensive and defensive capabilities. But remember, even without 【Enhance】, it can still fetch the OG “Hono-ikazuchi” from the graveyard when destroyed!
≪Ifrit Engine≫
This is the secret sauce of this deck! You can use it to protect your “Draconoid Dreadnaughts” or reanimate one from your graveyard, which gives the deck some much needed reliability. You might be tempted to keep them around for reanimating units later, but remember it’s cheaper to use its first ability to keep a unit in play, rather than fetching the same unit out of the graveyard afterwards.
Alice & the Ascendants Alliance New Card Highlight
≪Psychic Overload≫
This is probably the most important piece of this deck, as it not only helps protect your units by bouncing them back to your hand, it converts your plays during your opponent’s turn into direct damage. Its last ability is great when you want to play another unit from your hand while all of your zones are already full, as it makes great use of units already in play that would just be sent to the graveyard. You’ll want to get at least 1 copy of this out as soon as possible!
≪Lightning Jumper≫
This is a card with a lot of potential! Thanks to 【Sentinel Summoning】, you can of course play it during your opponent’s turn to deal damage with ≪Psychic Overload≫, and it will also protect most of your units from nasty effect damage cards like ≪Lucifer, the Lightbringer≫. But more importantly, its ability to return an allied {Ascendant} unit to your hand is probably its most powerful ability. You can return units with 【TD】 abilities (abilities triggered when the unit enters play from your hand) to reuse them next turn, or return other units with 【Sentinel Summoning】 to then summon them again during your opponent’s turn for another point of damage from ≪Psychic Overload≫.
≪The Little Torch Girl≫
This card can do a lot of heavy lifting in terms of dealing damage to your opponent with ≪Psychic Overload≫, while also protecting your key units like ≪Alice, Wonderland’s Champion≫ and ≪Lightning Jumper≫ by returning them to the safety of your hand. Be weary of mirror matches though, as if your opponent already has a ≪The Little Torch Girl≫ in play, you won’t be able to play your copy!
≪Alice of the Decisive Conflict≫
This is a solid defensive card that grants an allied unit 【Intercept】, which allows them to deal damage back to attacking enemies before taking damage themselves. While the cost of using it is not cheap, it doesn’t cost any resources to use, and also it sets up nicely to use its second ability. The graveyard ability allows you to reuse cards in your damage zone to pay more 【DR】 costs (flipping cards in your damage zone face down), which you’ll be using a lot of thanks to ≪Psychic Overload≫.
≪See You in Dreams≫
This is the card that many Alice fans have been waiting for, a card that can tutor for {Ascendant} cards like Alice! You might notice that it doesn’t have the usual “non-legendary” restriction, so you can also fetch the highly useful ≪Captain Liberty≫!. It’s second option to special summon an {Ascendant} from your graveyard is also very powerful, and works great with ≪Alice, Wonderland’s Champion≫ as she often ends up in your graveyard. By using its 【Discount】 keyword, you can play this card for 0 resources, but one thing to be weary of is that you can’t special summon the card you discarded for the 【Discount】, as you have to choose what you want to reanimate before you pay the card’s cost.
